Mia's goal is to have Children of Nova near complete before releasing a full-on crowdfunding campaign; this is to limit the wait time for backers to receive the final product. This limited sale is specifically to fund the interior illustrations of Children of Nova, to be done by comic artist Elijah Henry. All "rewards" will be sent immediately upon purchase with all profits going directly to the artist. If this campaign goes well and additional profits are made, the money will go towards the cover art and final production of Children of Nova.

What is Children of Nova?
Children of Nova is Mia's first independent comic. A sci-fi adventure set on an Earth that's been ravaged by the heat and the glorious empire of Nova (formerly, the Moon).
Savvi promised her parents to look after her brother, Cal; but it wasn't long before he became another one of the Lost Children of Nova. While searching for her brother, she uncovers the real reason the children go missing and the absolute power of those above. At least for now.

Mia McLaughlin has been cosplaying professionally since 2011 and has traveled the world as a guest at conventions. Additionally, Mia has been a writer for Otaku USA Magazine for over 11 years. In 2022, she was approached by Dynamite Comics to write a Bettie Page one-shot, Bettie Page and the Bigfoot Bandits. Since then she has written a five issues series, Bettie Page: The Alien Agenda as well as the a one-shot, Red Sonja: Pearls Before Swine. Now, for the first time, she's writing her own independent comic book, a sci-fi adventure with the working title Children of Nova.

Elijah Henry is an LA-based comic book artist and designer with a love for the macabre and the strange. He served as the primary illustrator and designer for author Shawn Patrick Boyd’s critically acclaimed comic book series WINONA FOREVER, and its follow up WINONA FOREVER: VAN GOGH VAN GONE. He continued his partnership with Boyd with BOOM! Studios’ horror anthology HELLO DARKNESS, as well as its spin-off HELLO HALLOWEEN, illustrating short horror stories for the collection. His most recent endeavors include launching a successful kickstarter campaign for his own original one-shot horror comic COW, as well as working with the likes of Upper Deck and 20th Century Studios creating comic-book-inspired artwork.
